The new 96,600 square foot Agriculture and Business Multipurpose Building located at the heart of the Prairie View A&M campus, promotes connection and community by offering spaces for interdisciplinary collaboration, learning outside of the classroom, and social gathering. The goal was to create synergy between research, teaching and ultimately learning.

The design team worked to bring the Agriculture and Business colleges together by instilling unifying elements, while still maintaining each college’s identity. Traditional Prairie View A&M colors mixed with a fresh palette of complementary hues were used as wayfinding to identify the multi-levels and the two schools. The public space on the lower levels played on this vibrant color scheme while the faculty area above was more subdued.

The design relates to the cultural history of the campus, while projecting a forward thinking image in a state-of-the-art facility.
