Studio8 began working with Silicon Labs in their first year as a company and watched them grow to become a global leader in the innovation of high-performance, analog-intensive, mixed-signal ICs. The Central Business District in Downtown Austin is the current home to the Headquarters, housing their main engineering divisions. Studio8 is proud to be a part of their success by giving them a space that supports their great talent and inspires collaboration.

Silicon Labs puts a high priority on density, privacy, as well as flexible expansion opportunities. Studio8 worked with the client to pinpoint exactly what each person needed to function best within an office and emerged with a smaller, more efficient office size. Office fronts are full glass with sliding doors, with clerestory windows from office to office to help expand space visually. While the floor plates are very office intensive, the goal is to provide daylight in every corridor. All planning includes a strategy to reconfigure for future office space or lab, as their business expands into new markets rapidly.

Sustainable Strategies have been employed, such as building, systems, and material reuse, as well as using recycled content and renewable materials and concern for indoor air quality. Alternative transportation is encouraged with plenty of bike storage and shower facilities.
