Studio8 partnered with Overland Partners on the interiors and moveable furnishings of ChildSafe’s new Salado Creek Campus in San Antonio, Texas. ChildSafe is the only Children’s Advocacy Center in Bexar County and offer specialized services to children and teenagers who have been traumatized by abuse, neglect or sexual abuse.
Designers took cues from nature to build a healing environment for human restoration, instilling a feeling of comfort, hope and physical refuge. The team kept hope at the forefront of the design process from floor to ceiling. Interiors accommodate the different uses with the accompanying varied needs, including durability (law enforcement) and playfulness (children’s areas) expressed in choice of furnishings, scale and the use of color. The fundamental intent was to make the space feel safe for everyone: children, families and staff.
