With the continual growth in the University of Texas student population, the new Student Activity Center serves as the “campus living room,” in the heart of campus. The facility provides numerous meeting and gathering spaces; building community. Overland Partners Architects of San Antonio, generated project goals and held design workshops to help meet the needs of the students.

Later in development, Studio8 joined the team to finish out the interior design for the building. Studio8 worked to enhance the inside-outside connection by pulling exterior finishes inside or mimicking rhythms. Durability and ease of maintenance were paramount, but material selection was kept very fresh and sophisticated with sparks of surprising color.
