Interior Design Magazine honors 30/30 Interior Designers
Celebrating three talented designers at Interior Design Magazine’s 30/30 Austin Event.
Rachel Parker, Aubrey Millis, Jillian Afflerbach
Jillian graduated from UT Austin with a degree in Psychology and was introduced to design while working for her dad’s local landscape architecture firm. Eager to explore interior architecture, she joined Studio8 in 2016 as an intern, supporting the design team across a variety of projects. During this time, she discovered her passion for interiors, leading her to pursue a Master’s in Interior Design at the University of Oregon. After completing her degree, she returned to Studio8, seamlessly picking up where she left off. With an old soul and a presence that remains steady under pressure, Jillian works beyond her years of experience—task her with anything, and she will calmly and efficiently see it through to completion.
Rachel took an ambitious approach to launching her career—upon graduating from the University of Florida, she and a group of designers spent their spring break interviewing with firms in Austin, Texas. Her can-do spirit and drive to make things happen led her to Studio8, where we were fortunate to have her join our team in 2017. Since then, she has made a significant impact with her production skills, strong organizational abilities, and keen eye for design. Known for her dedication to her craft, Rachel is both diligent and deeply thoughtful in her work, bringing a level of care that elevates every project she touches.
Aubrey graduated from TCU and quickly earned a reputation at Studio8 as a fast learner. Just weeks after starting in 2021, she was thrown into a major corporate campus project and took ownership of it as if she had been practicing for years. A true go-getter, Aubrey absorbs information like a sponge and tackles anything thrown her way. She’s eager to grow, always pushing herself to the next level. In 2024, she reached a major milestone by passing her NCIDQ exams.
These designers are a true demonstration of design excellence.
