Studio8 collaborated on the design of restroom and pavilion amenity structures for the Children’s Garden at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, focusing on an integrated, sustainable approach.

This garden fosters connections between children, families, and nature through over a dozen interactive and educational features crafted from natural materials, including engaging water activities.

UT LBJ Wildflower Center Pavilion

As a pilot project for the Sustainable Sites Initiative, the goal was to create environmentally sensitive structures within a watershed area.

To achieve this, rainwater from the roofs was harvested into cisterns made from recycled oil tanks, treated to potable standards, and used in a playful fountain feature for children.
