San Antonio’s newest food hall Make Ready Market is nearing completion, with major progress being made in the ongoing renovations to the space. Make Ready is being carefully carved out of the former Cavender Cadillac dealership, with plenty of room for numerous food and drink concepts.
Earlier this week I was led on an in-depth tour of the Make Ready grounds, including inside the not-yet-open main hall. While the property remains somewhat bare, the vision is clear: this is going to be one of the biggest, most diverse food halls in all of San Antonio.
Walking up to the property, I stumbled upon Mila Coffee owner Marco Cardel and local artist and tattooer Harley Martinez adding some finishing touches to the popular coffee trailer’s new outpost, located on the corner of Avenue B and Brooklyn Ave. An official opening date for the coffee kiosk has been set for May 1, according to Brittany Rosenthal, development manager at Make Ready Market. Until then, folks can sneak a peek during Mila’s soft opening event planned for April 20.
