Megan Moshier selected as one of SABJ’s 40 under 40 Honorees
The San Antonio Business Journal’s (SABJ) 40 Under 40 awards recognize young professionals under 40 years old who are leaders in the local business and non-profit communities. They’re recognized for their leadership, commitment to growth, and contributions to the community and Alamo City.
Since 2011, Megan has worked vigorously to build a presence in San Antonio for her family of five, for Studio8 Architect’s second office, and for herself. She has completely embedded herself in the community, not just as a designer, but as someone who is focused on a more vibrant San Antonio. Megan has recently earned recognition for her interior design services for ChildSafe’s new Salado Creek Campus which has garnered several design awards this year including the SABJ Building Design Awards- Community Impact Award and the AIA 2020 People + Place Awards – San Antonio Mayor’s Choice & Community Impact Award. In response to the pandemic, Megan has also worked diligently with her clients to help them adjust their current office layouts to ensure a safe working environment to help staff return to the office. Her most recent client was WP Engine, where in addition to assessing their Austin office, helped perform assessments of their workplace globally.
Megan is always seeking opportunities to give back to the community by extending her design knowledge as a resource to the underserved. In collaboration with Overland Partners, Megan recently led the interior design for San Antonio’s ChildSafe, an organization dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and providing treatment services and education to children and families. Since working on that project, Megan has participated in ChildSafe’s Cardboard Kid’s Awareness program and has made it an annual tradition for Studio8 San Antonio. In addition to ChildSafe, Megan has also worked on other non-profit projects including UT Elementary Charter School, Caritas and People’s Community Clinic. In response to COVID-19, Megan is currently assisting People’s Community Clinic in updating their healthcare facility floor plans to reduce exposure risks and create a safer environment for their staff and patients.
Through ULI, Megan has participated in the City of San Antonio’s REHABARAMA for two years, a service event that brings together local contractors, volunteer groups, and students to perform repairs and maintenance on historic and affordable housing stock. Outside of work, Megan can be seen on the softball and baseball fields where she has volunteered her time to coach Alamo Heights Little League for two years and the Factory of Champions & YMCA Basketball for the last five years. She is also on the Building and Facility committee for her church, were she offers her construction and design expertise to help guide the congregation on suggestions for facility improvements.
