Situated just West of Austin’s Downtown, 1608 West 5th will be a 3-Story Multi-Tenant urban infill project, consisting of more than 40,000 s.f. of office space and four levels of underground parking. The building design responds to Austin’s historic warehouse district context through massing, material choice and detailing. The project, on a very tight urban infill site, is a reflection of the evolving construction market in Austin. With a buildable area of only 150’x150’, the three story building will include an underground parking garage, a first for a speculative development of this size in the area. By eliminating the need for land for parking (and its unsightliness) this project sets an example for making future small scale developments more appealing to urban neighborhoods and will help create more density in Austin’s core.
