Once a former medical office building, this visionary adaptive reuse project seeks to revitalize a forgotten structure into a local community hub.

Ridgemont Properties, a returning client of Studio8, is visualizing a series of hospitality and office spaces that champions the evolution of the City of Alamo Heights’s pedestrian experience and built environment. Working with much of the existing structure and conditions, Studio8 is approaching the design process with preservation, restoration, and transformation in mind.

Public realm enhancements include eroding back the existing building facade at the ground level to create outdoor dining spaces along the major streetscape, as well as restoring the original open-air breezeway through the building to create a pedestrian thoroughfare.

Preservation design strategies include the restoration of the original brick masonry and the reuse of as much of the original structure and building elements as possible.
