Alterman, a Texas electrical contractor with a legacy dating back to 1923, collaborated with Studio8 Architects to design a new 20-acre corporate campus in Live Oak, Texas. The multi-phased development includes an office building and a logistics/manufacturing facility, both designed to reflect the company’s industrial roots. Unpainted tilt-wall concrete highlights the raw material’s texture, while formliner panels add visual interest to the lower sections of the walls. The office building features a striking 3-story curtain wall and large black storefront windows, reinforcing the industrial character of the design. The logistics building blends tilt-wall construction with a PEMB structure, incorporating Kalwall for enhanced natural lighting. The campus brings together all of Alterman’s divisions in a centralized hub and includes areas for employee events like their annual Beefmaster cook-offs and family gatherings, reflecting Alterman’s commitment to fostering community and supporting employee well-being.
