Champion Office Development encompasses 2 four-story office buildings, a parking garage and sustainable features, such as rainwater harvesting, high efficiency HVAC system, regional materials, low flow plumbing fixtures, and designated preferred parking for fuel efficient vehicles.
The design of this office development was challenged by the limited size and steep slope of the site. This limitation created the need for innovative planning of the connection between buildings on the site and creative use of the remaining natural space. The landscape architecture blends the buildings into their surroundings and creates pockets of respite, while highlighting sustainable features such as the rain harvesting cisterns. The steep slope also afforded beautiful vistas overlooking the hills adjacent to State Highway Loop 360. In order to capitalize on the views and maintain our commitment to a high-performance building envelope, we incorporated advanced triple-silver-coated, low-E glazing with solar control. This type of glazing is ultra-clear, transmitting a higher percentage of visible light throughout the space.
Studio8 worked with Overland Partners on all phases of the project in order to ensure the successful realization of the design.
