Explore Austin’s new headquarters in East Austin’s Crescent, a significant milestone that provides a dedicated facility for consolidating office and storage spaces, enabling them to fully support their mission of empowering youth from economically disadvantaged communities through a unique program of mentorship, leadership development, and outdoor adventure.
Previously renting, this will be Explore Austin’s first permanent location, designed as a one-stop shop for picking up essential camping and outdoor gear. The facility will include office space and a fully conditioned, pre-engineered warehouse with a drive-through component where explorers can pick up mountain bikes, kayaks, and camping gear, ensuring easy access for outings
The design emphasizes simplicity, with earthy tones and clean forms using fiber cement, wood, and metal paneling. Outdoor features—including a winding pump track, shaded picnic areas, and a low-maintenance grassy campout zone—reflect Explore Austin’s commitment to adventure and the outdoors.
