In the heart of the original Cavender Cadillac dealership in San Antonio, the Clark Building and the Make Ready Building have undergone a captivating metamorphosis thanks to Hixon Properties’ commitment to adaptive reuse. The Clark Building, once a bustling tire service hub, now breathes new life as Idle Brewery, leased to Pouring with Heart (PWH), who meticulously preserved the original character, including an iconic basketball hoop and burgundy-painted trusses proclaiming “Cultivating your Confidence.” Studio8’s touch, from a new roof to an exterior bar, seamlessly weaves with Rialto Studio’s landscaping, creating a narrative of preservation and reinvention. PWH’s interior designer, Lilianne Steckel, weaves a tale of historical homage and Mexican influence within Idle Brewery,  including natural textures, patinaed surfaces, and bright colors. Design accents such as warm wood furniture, vintage doors and light fixtures, and colorful tile paired with plenty of natural light and comfortable seating create a warm and playful environment for Idle brewery patrons.
