The planning, architecture and interior aesthetic for Riata Vista’s 38-acre, LEED Gold, Corporate Campus responds to the client’s culture and identity; a brand focused on simplicity, quality and the removal of complexity from people’s lives. Clean lines and modern crisp detailing were implemented throughout the design to highlight the company’s ideology. Creating seamless transitions between indoors and outdoors was the driving force of the design, reinforcing a connected and cohesive campus. Through multiple smaller buildings, Butt Joint Glazing, clean lines in the architecture, day-lighting and site lines were improved, lessening the boundary from exterior to interior.
Designers were also challenged in working with a color palette based on client’s standards in which the employees are what energizes a space. The limitations on color lent more opportunity to play with light, volume, texture and rhythm which is transparent throughout the campus. Dark, dramatic moments were sporadically placed throughout the interiors to add depth and a pop of contrast against the neutral tones and warm accents.
