Alterman, an established Texas electrical contractor with a legacy dating back to 1923, collaborated with Studio8 Architects to design a new 20-acre corporate campus in Live Oak, Texas.

The driving design concepts—adaptability for growth, fostering community and connection, and instilling authenticity and pride—are reflected throughout the development, which includes a 90,000 s.f. office building and a 100,000 s.f. logistics and manufacturing facility.  The campus brings together all of Alterman’s divisions in a centralized hub and includes areas for employee events like their annual Beefmaster cook-offs and family gatherings, reflecting Alterman’s commitment to fostering community and supporting employee well-being.

The masterplan unites three facilities into a dynamic hub designed for current and future growth. This integrated campus enhances manufacturing and office efficiency while fostering togetherness, reflecting Alterman’s values. Despite restrictive access and challenging contours, the design ensures intuitive functionality without sacrificing operational efficiency.

The campus boasts a spacious, centrally located pavilion that serves as an outdoor venue for major events, including Alterman’s annual ‘Beefmasters’ cook-offs.

Working closely with Alterman’s CEO, we showcased their commitment to craftsmanship by emphasizing meticulous attention to detail. This included a 3-story conduit feature screen, custom bent conduit designs, exposed cable tray with corridor lighting, and a transparent MDF room.
