Texas Permanent School Fund
As one of the country’s oldest educational endowment funds, Texas PSF supports the state’s public schools. After spending several years in an aging building, Texas PSF will soon relocate to Innovation Tower, occupying two full floors in the building.
The overall design aesthetic desired was an elevated/refined take on a hill country esthetic achieved through utilizing nature inspired flooring, wood textures, and stone looks.
The space features an elevated traditional design with a walnut wood coffered ceiling, complemented by modern millwork finishes and sleek ring light fixtures
TPSF aimed for a clean, light, and airy space by using floating clouds with hidden infrastructure, exposed white-painted structure, glass office fronts to maximize natural light, organic carpet textures to balance exposed concrete walkways, and pops of color in built-in banquettes with varying upholstery.
The public-facing lobby and coffee bar were designed for visibility from the reception to the main boardroom, offering transparency and capturing the Capitol view to the west, with an elevated design featuring terrazzo flooring, full-height backsplashes, soft furniture textures, and wood tones on the banquette, coffered ceiling, and coffee bar.
