Deep Roots Veterinary Clinic

Inspired by the iconic monitor barns of the Texas Hill Country, Deep Roots Animal Hospital brings a blend of tradition and modern care to Kyle, Texas, just three blocks from downtown. The clinic is expanding its capacity to treat small animals while introducing in-office care for large animals like horses and livestock.
Phase 1 of the project includes the small-animal hospital consisting of reception, exam rooms, pharmacy, lab, treatment area, surgery and dental suites, recovery ward, medical gas storage and distribution, offices, and a staff break area with on-site shower facilities. Phase 2 is built-out as shell space design to accommodate the future expansion of the practice into large animal treatment.

Inspired by archetypical monitor barns of the Texas Hill Country, the design features a clerestory along the spine, filling reception and treatment areas with daylight. The pre-engineered metal frame provides a column-free, adaptable space for growth and flexibility.

The double-height reception space is clad in wood paneling and warm, inviting finishes that both ease the pet owner and respond to guidelines set forth by the Fear Free initiative by avoiding materials that fluoresce and ensuring color selection that is within the pets visual spectrum.

The treatment area at the core of the space is the nerve center of the clinic around which patient examination, surgery, dental work, lab work, and pharmaceutical administration revolve.
